This time of year means beautiful crisp days and tons of fun happenings.  Here is a list of some great upcoming area events:

• October 2-4 Rehoboth Beach Oktoberfest: Participating restaurants offer special menus, Oktoberfest beer and terrific music. 
• October 2-4 Lewes and Rehoboth Merchants’ Sidewalk Sale: Merchants in the Historic Commercial District of Lewes and the Rehoboth/Dewey beach resort area offer great bargains.
• October 3 Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra October Concert: Mariner’s Bethel Church, Rt. 26 & Central Ave., Ocean View.  Visit www.midatlanticsymphony.org
• October 3-4 Boast the Coast Maritime Weekend: Festival and Lighted Boat Parade with fun events on both sides of the Lewes Canal.  Coast Day at the University of Delaware Lewes Campus.
• October 9-10 18th Annual Apple Scrapple Festival: Old fashioned festival fun for all ages with live entertainment, crafters and food vendors.
• October 14-18 20th Annual Rehoboth Beach Autumn Jazz Festival: One of the most popular jazz festivals in the US because of intimate venues and performer interactions. Visit www.rehobothjazz.com
• October 16-18 Quiet Resorts Birding Weekend: Bethany and Fenwick areas.  Enjoy the fall migration of both indigenous and migratory species of birds.
• October 23-25 20th Annual Sea Witch Halloween & Fiddlers Festival
• October 24 Coastal Concerts Music Series in Lewes: Bethel United Methodist Church in Lewes.  Walden Chamber Players.  Visit www.coastalconcerts.org
• October 31 Wings & Wheels Fly-In Festival: Sussex County Airport in Georgetown.  A fly-in of vintage planes and a huge car show with classic cars, trucks and more.  WWII re-enactment, food and craft vendors, musical entertainment and games.
